Multi-Use Trail
Work on the trail is finally commencing! This will be a wonderful city asset. See here for some details for the overall project, of which Rose Park is a part.
Read more about the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail Rehabilitation here.
A few things to note:
- The trail along Rose Park will likely be closed for 4 months (July opening if all goes well).
- Staging will not occur in Rose Park; staging area will be across the bridge off P Street.
- The city promises to protect all trees (including the large Elm near the Tot Lot).
- New width is between 6 to 8 feet wide; DDOT has been informed there is concern that motorized vehicles that are part of the city’s alternative mobility effort would be a safety hazard to have on the trail.
